How to make delicious caramelized onions: add just one ingredient

Very often housewives underestimate onions in vain. When properly prepared, the vegetable can complement more than one recipe, as well as diversify the usual meat and fish. The easiest option is caramelized onions. By adding wine, the vegetable will have a delicate sweet flavor and impeccable aroma.

Food blogger Alisa shared a recipe for caramelized onions with wine, which can be used to complement meat and fish, on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

  • onions - 800-1000 g
  • sunflower oil - 70 g
  • butter - 30 g
  • dry white wine - 50 g
  • salt - 3/4 tsp.
  • sugar - 1/2 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Peel and cut onions into half rings.

2. Melt 20 grams of oil and butter in a frying pan.

3. Put the onions in the pan. Pour oil with batter over it. Reduce the heat to low. The onions should become transparent.

4. After 15 minutes, stir the onions and add wine.

5. After 30 minutes, add salt and sugar.

6. The total cooking time is 1 hour. Remove the onions from the heat and put them in a jar.
