How to make butterscotch at home: you can't tell the difference from store-bought ones
Butterscotch candiesare delicious sweets, the taste of which is familiar to many since childhood. They are easy to make at home and only 3 simple ingredients are needed.
Food blogger Oleksii Kriuchkov (kruchkov.food) on his Instagram page shared a recipe for homemade butterscotch candies, which you can easily make from sour cream.
Ingredients:
- 20% sour cream - 600 g
- sugar - 600 g
- butter - 70 g
Method of preparation:
1. First, pour the sour cream into a saucepan and put it on the fire. Bring it to a boil.
2. When the sour cream has boiled, add sugar. You need it to dissolve completely, then turn down the heat and cook to a caramel color, stirring constantly. This will take some time - about 230 minutes.
3. Next, you need to add the butter. Cook until thickened.
Important: you can check the mass for readiness by dropping a small piece of it into cold water. If the mass has formed a ball, it means that it is ready and can be removed from the heat.
4. Pour the resulting mixture into a mold on parchment or a silicone mold. Leave to cool down. After that you can cut the toffee and eat. Done!
