Apple cider vinegar can be a great alternative to regular table vinegar. It is usually bought in a store, but during the apple season, it is worth making it at home – it is much tastier and safer because you will be sure of the organic nature and beneficial properties of such a product.

The recipe for homemade apple cider vinegar was shared by doctor_galuna_pokhmyrska on her Instagram page.

The expert noted that it should be used for dressings and sauces for dishes, as it has a positive effect on the health of the whole body.

What apples to choose for vinegar

Ingredients for 1 kilogram of apples

  • apples and apple prunings
  • raw honey (unheated) - 1/2 cup
  • filtered water - 700-800 ml
  • leftover unfiltered vinegar or vinegar mushroom (if you have it ready)
Salad with vinegar dressing
  1. Cut the apples with the core into large pieces.
  2. Mix water with honey.
  3. Put the apples in a jar and pour the honey water over them.
  4. Cover the jar with cheesecloth and put it in a cool, dark place. The next day, bubbles will begin to form.
  5. The fermentation process lasts 1-2 weeks. During this time, you need to turn the apples to let the gas escape.
  6. After gas formation stops, strain the contents of the jar – apple brew.
  7. Pour it into a clean jar, cover it with cheesecloth, and put it in a cool, dark place.
  8. Leave for 3-6 weeks.
  9. After 3 weeks, you can start tasting it.
