Food blogger Anastasia Solopiyka shared a simple recipe for a delicious honey cake on her Instagram, which will be a great addition to tea and coffee.

Honey cake recipe

Ingredients:

  • honey - 100 g
  • butter - 100 g
  • sugar - 50 g
  • flour - 450 g
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp.
  • baking soda - 1 tsp.
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp.
  • salt - a pinch

For the cream:

  • fat sour cream - 350 g
  • boiled condensed milk - 350 g

Method of preparation:

  1. Put a bowl in a water bath in which to brew the dough so that the bottom touches the water.
  2. Add honey, sugar, spices, baking soda, salt, and eggs, stirring constantly, and brew the mixture for 5-7 minutes until the sugar and honey crystals dissolve (the mixture will foam).
  3. Add the diced butter and stir to melt. Remove from the heat.
  4. Sift the flour, knead the dough, and divide into 6 balls.
  5. Roll out a ball on parchment paper, and cut out the desired diameter with a baking dish or plate.
  6. Pierce the cake with a fork, and put it in the oven with the scraps for 4 minutes at 200 C.
  7. Cream: mix the condensed milk with sour cream.
  8. Afterward, brush the cakes generously with the cream and refrigerate for an hour.
  9. Grease the top and sides well.
  10. Use the leftovers to make a sprinkle for the cake, but you can also decorate with something else to your liking.
