The method advised by Mr. Rice requires only rubbing alcohol, a bag, and a paper towel. A few simple manipulations and your salad will be stored for a long time and remain fresh.
The expert says that the first step is to cut off the stem of the vegetable. Next, soak a kitchen paper towel in rubbing alcohol and wrap it around the ends of the leaves. The last step is to place this "bouquet" in a plastic resealable bag. This is how your salad will stay fresh for 60 days.
Mr. Rice advises using ziplock bags, as they are very convenient for taking out exactly the amount of lettuce you need to prepare a particular dish. Also, according to him, instead of alcohol, you can use ordinary water, but then the shelf life will be somewhat shorter.
