Salmon is exactly the kind of fish that will suit all occasions. This fish is quite versatile and can be cooked in any way: baked, fried, or stewed. It is very difficult to spoil salmon, but it is possible to make it much tastier and juicier.

Famous chef and MasterChef judge Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi shared his recipe and all the nuances of delicious fried salmon. It was published on his Instagram page.

The chef suggests frying salmon using the Monier method when the fillet is poured with hot oil or butter during the frying process.

  • Be sure to make shallow cuts on the skin – this will prevent the skin from deforming the piece of fish during cooking. But it is important not to overdo it and not to make too deep cuts. Otherwise, there is a risk of overcooking the fish.
  • It's a good idea to leave salmon slightly undercooked, so it remains juicy and tender. This method of frying is called medium rare and is best for fish.

How to cook salmon:

  1. Heat a frying pan.
  2. Pour in a little vegetable oil.
  3. Put a piece of salmon skin side down and simultaneously press the piece with your fingers to the surface of the pan for about 15-20 seconds. Fry until lightly browned.
  4. Add a little butter to the hot pan. It is important not to overcook the butter, otherwise it will be bitter.
  5. Tilt the pan on its side and spoon the hot foaming butter over the fillets. Fry for another 4-5 minutes. The steak should be firm to the touch and slightly pressed.
  6. Use a paper napkin to remove excess fat and immediately transfer the salmon to a plate, skin side up, to keep it crispy.

Serve the finished dish with tartar sauce and mashed potatoes, or drizzle with lemon juice if desired.

  6. Grate the cheese and sprinkle over the fish before or after baking.
