First of all, Lori took a clean pepper and placed it on its side on the board. Next, she cut off the green tip of the pepper as close to the edible part as possible.

Next, she turned the pepper over to the board with the green part and made the same number of cuts as the number of "slices" the pepper has. The blogger did not make the cuts all the way through and did not cut through the green part.
