How to dry plums in the oven
Dried plums are a great savory snack on their own or an ingredient option for other dishes. The fruit is usually sold in this form in specialized dried fruit stores or markets, but it is actually very easy to make such plums at home. All you need is an ordinary oven.
The idea of cooking dried plums in the oven was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Vira with the nickname vera_cooking8.
Ingredients:
- plums - about 2 kg
It is important to choose fruits that are whole, with dense flesh and no visible damage. If the fruit is large, cut it into quarters or 6 pieces to make the drying process faster.
- garlic - 3 cloves
- dry Provence herbs - 1 sachet
- olive oil - 2 tbsp
- salt and pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Put the plums on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
2. Put a piece of garlic in each slice, sprinkle with herbs, salt and pepper, and drizzle with oil.
3. Dry at 100 degrees with convection mode on for 4-5 hours.
4. Leave the oven ajar by 1-2 cm.
