How to dry mushrooms at home: the most common methods
Mushrooms are real gifts of nature that can be either bought in stores or on the market or you can picked in a forest. They are used to prepare a wide variety of dishes. It will also be great to dry mushrooms and add them to soups or stews.
FoodOboz.ua figured out how to dry mushrooms at home. This process should be taken seriously in order not to spoil the product and avoid possible food poisoning.
Preparation for drying
Peel the mushrooms and cut them into 1 cm thick slices. You should not wash the mushrooms before drying if you want this process to be even.
It is important to remember that boletus or suede bolete become brittle when dried, so it is better to cut them into larger pieces. Or, after drying, grind them into powder to create a delicious mushroom seasoning.
Ways to dry mushrooms
1. On a string. String the mushroom pieces and hang them in the sunny side. You can also spread them out on a baking sheet or paper and put them on the windowsill. It is important to observe one condition - constant wind.
2. In the dryer. This method is considered the easiest. All you need to do is put the mushrooms in a special device and turn on the temperature of 40-50 degrees. In 10-12 hours, you will receive a batch of high-quality dried mushrooms.
3. In the oven. Put the prepared mushrooms on a baking sheet and put them in the oven, which has been preheated to 70-80 degrees. Leave the mushrooms there for 5-6 hours with the door ajar and the convection mode on.
