1. How to prepare berries and fruits before drying
– Fruits and berries should not be overripe and green.
– Wash them well, if they are berries, put them on a cloth so that they do not touch each other and let them dry completely.
– Also wash, dry, and cut the fruit.
– A very important point for those who want to dry pears and apples properly is to soak them in lemon juice for 5 minutes before cooking to prevent them from darkening.
– The fruit can be sweetened with honey or cinnamon.
2. How to dry in the sun
Put the finished berries or fruit on a baking sheet covered with parchment and place it in direct sunlight. Be sure to cover the fruit with cheesecloth at night. Do this until the fruit is completely dry – on average, 2-3 days.
3. How to dry fruit in the oven
Prepare the fruit, spread it out evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, put it in a preheated oven at 70 C, and dry it for about 7-12 hours.
4. How to dry fruit in an electric dryer
Place the fruit on the trays of the dryer, turn on the appliance and in 10 hours you will have perfectly dried fruit.
5. How to store fruit after drying
After cooking, let the fruit cool down and then put it in bags or special cereal storage containers.
