How to cover berries for a cake so that they do not dry out: an idea from Liliia Tsvit
With the start of the strawberry and other berry season, dessert decorating ideas have become even more diverse. But only one question remains: how to make sure that the berries on cakes, pastries, and other baked goods stay fresh and look attractive for a long time.
The idea was shared by the famous Ukrainian pastry chef Liliia Tsvit (lilijatsvit) on her Instagram page. She suggested a fairly simple method.
To implement it, you need:
- jelly for cakes – 1 pack
- sugar – 2 tbsp
- water – 250 ml
How to do it:
1. Mix the contents of the sachet with sugar.
2. Pour in water, and boil. Cook for 1 minute.
3. Cool slightly and dip the cooled strawberries.
This will keep the berries on your dessert fresh, flavorful, and shiny for a long time thanks to the gelatin.
