How to cook Vinaigrette in an unusual way: an interesting recipe

One of the simplest and healthiest salads is Vinaigrette. It is based on seasonal vegetables and a simple oil dressing. To emphasize the flavor of the salad, try adding new original ingredients, such as herring and flavorful oil.

Chef Valentyna Sayenko shared a recipe for a delicious vinaigrette with herring, cucumbers, and sauerkraut on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • beets - 3 pcs.
  • potatoes - 2 pcs.
  • carrots - 1 pc.
  • pickled cucumbers - 3 pcs.
  • sauerkraut - 150 g
  • beans or peas - 150 g
  • green onions - 5 pcs.
  • herring fillet - 500 g
  • oil - 5 tbsp.
  • horseradish - 1 tbsp.
  • apple cider vinegar - 2 tbsp.
  • sugar - 3-5 tsp.
  • salt, pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Bake the beets, carrots and potatoes in the oven in foil at 200 C. Let cool slightly, peel and cut into cubes.

2. Dice the cucumbers and herring, and chop the onion finely.

3. For the dressing, mix the grated horseradish with sugar, vinegar, and oil and mix well.

4. Put all the ingredients in a bowl, add the beans, cabbage, and dressing and mix. Season with salt to taste and add the green onions.
