How to cook universal water-based garlic buns

Currently, bread and bakery products are the most popular products in Ukraine. Garlic buns are a versatile baked product that anyone can easily make. They can be eaten with first courses, as well as with jam and tea.

Food blogger Natalia (recipes_with_natali) shared a simple recipe for water-based garlic buns on her Instagram page.

Recipe for water-based garlic buns.

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • water - 150 ml
  • sugar - 1 tbsp
  • yeast - 7 g
  • egg - 1 pc
  • oil - 3 tbsp
  • flour - 400 g
  • salt - 1 tsp.

Dressing:

  • water - 50 ml
  • dill - 1 bunch
  • oil - 3 tbsp
  • garlic - 4-5 cloves
  • salt - 1 tsp

Method of preparation:

1. Make the starter. Combine warm water with sugar. Add 1-2 tbsp of flour and yeast. Stir, cover with foil or a towel and leave for 15 minutes until a "cap" appears.

2. Add the egg, oil, sifted flour and salt to the prepared dough. Knead the dough, put it in a greased bowl, cover with a towel and put it in a warm place. The mass should increase in volume.

3. Divide the finished dough into 15 parts. Form the buns and put them into a greased mold. Leave them for some time to rise.

4. Before baking, brush them with egg yolk. Bake at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

5. To make the dressing, beat the garlic with salt, water and oil in a mortar or blender.

6. Add dill or other herbs to the mixture to taste. Stir and pour over the buns.
