How to cook rice specially for sushi at home: you will need vinegar
To make sushi, you need to make special rice. It must be sticky enough for the filling to hold its shape and not fall apart. To do this, add a special dressing to the cereal.
A food blogger with the nickname lady.stegantseva shared her tips on how to make sushi rice at home on Instagram. The consistency will be perfect.
Ingredients:
- sushi rice - 200 g
- water - 220 g
- apple or rice vinegar - 22 g
- salt - 3 g
- sugar - 17 g
Method of preparation:
1. First, rinse the rice well until it runs clear.
2. Add 220 grams of plain water.
3. Put it on the fire.
4. Bring to a boil.
5. Once the rice has boiled, cover it with a lid and reduce the heat.
6. Cook for exactly 12 minutes without stirring the rice.
7. Then turn off the stove.
8. Open the lid and quickly cover the rice with a clean towel.
9. Press the lid on top and leave it on the same, but turned off, heat for another 15 minutes.
