Cooking pasta seems like a piece of cake. But no. To make a truly delicious dish, you need to know a few secrets.

The FoodOboz editorial team shares with you the life hacks used by the famous British chef Gordon Ramsay in cooking pasta (to watch the video, scroll to the end).

Ramsay assures us that if you follow his instructions, you can turn ordinary pasta into a gourmet restaurant dish.

  • The pot. Never cook pasta in a small saucepan. Pasta needs a lot of space. Use a large saucepan and enough water: about 3/4.
  • Salt. Always add a good pinch of salt to the water. Do not be afraid to add salt, almost all of the salt will go out with the water.
  • Water. Always boil the water. The pasta should be dipped in boiling water to avoid the common problem of sticking dough.
  • Olive oil. Add olive oil to the water to help prevent pasta from sticking together.
  • Do not break the pasta. Even if you think they won't fit in the pan, believe me, they will. And watch the video of Gordon dipping them into the water.
  • Time. Be sure to record the cooking time and cook exactly as much as indicated on the pasta package. Stir the water in the pot from time to time. Over time, you will be able to cook without a timer.
  • Taste. When the cooking time on the clock comes to an end, be sure to taste the pasta. Al dente pasta should not crunch on your teeth; when you bite down, the pasta should be firm.
  • Colander. Drain the water in a colander, then sprinkle the pasta with salt and pepper in the colander, add olive oil, and mix. Now you have the perfect base for making other types of pasta, such as carbonara or bolognese.
