Every housewife's dream is to cook good, fluffy rice that doesn't burn the first time. But often, due to a number of mistakes, it turns out to be either tasteless and overcooked or undercooked.

Today, FoodOboz editorial team shares 7 life hacks that will help you cook perfect, delicious rice.

1. Rinse the rice with cold water

Before cooking, be sure to rinse the rice thoroughly with cold water 5 times, even with ice water, so that there is practically no starch left in it, which is responsible for its stickiness. When the water is clear, it's a sign that the rice is ready to cook.

2. How long to cook rice

It directly depends on the cooking method and the type of rice. Therefore, the cooking time can vary from 20 to 60 minutes.

3. Cooking utensils

If you don't want the rice to stick or burn, choose a pan with a thick bottom so that the temperature can be evenly distributed.

4. Salt

Salt the water before it boils, not the rice itself.

5. When to stir and how many times

Stir the rice well only once, as soon as you throw it into boiling water, mix thoroughly and cover with a lid, reduce the heat, and cook for 20-60 minutes.

6. Butter

Do not pour oil into boiling water with rice; the best thing to do is to add 30-50 g of butter after cooking, when all the water has "gone" and mix it thoroughly but very gently.

7. Spices

Rice is good friends with turmeric, which gives it a beautiful golden color and a spicy, pleasant aroma. It is best to add it during cooking: when the rice is already in boiling water, add a pinch of turmeric and stir everything once.
