Chef, winner of the British version of the show "MasterChef. Professionals" Oli Martin shared his personal life hack for cooking pasta. His secret is not to drain the boiled pasta in a colander.

Usually people cook pasta in the following order: throw the pasta into boiling water, add olive oil to prevent the pasta from sticking together, cook it, then drain it and add the sauce to the pasta. Oli Martin assures that this method is not quite right, writes the Daily Mail.

Oli says that the oil we add to pasta is "just a waste of good oil." In addition, Martin advises not to drain the pasta in a colander, but to take it out of the pan with a spoon: the starch that remains on the pasta acts as a thickener and gives the sauce a creamy texture.

Oli also advises adding a little salted water to the sauce, in which the pasta was cooked. Firstly, this is how you season the sauce with salt, and secondly, it dilutes the sauce, making it more liquid and rich.

"After you add water to the pan, cook the pasta in this sauce for a few minutes so that it envelops the pasta well on all sides," says Oli Martin.

He advises seasoning any pasta with plenty of olive oil and balsamic before serving.
