How to cook ordinary beets in a tasty and original way: a variant of a spectacular dish in the oven

Beetroot is not only an ingredient for borscht and various salads, but also the basis for a spectacular appetizer on its own. The vegetable tastes best when baked to preserve all the vitamins. But before that, the product needs to be marinated for a spicy and rich flavor.

The idea of baked pickled beets was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Natalia with the nickname talli_sun. The vegetable is moderately spicy and sweet.

Ingredients:

  • beets - 1-2 pcs.
  • soy sauce - 2 tbsp
  • balsamic vinegar - 2 tbsp
  • mustard in grains - 1 tbsp.
  • honey - 1.5 tsp
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • cumin
  • olive oil - 2-3 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Put the beets in a saucepan with water, add 1 tbsp of soy sauce and balsamic vinegar.

2. Boil for 40 minutes.

3. Peel and cut the beetroot into medium slices.

4. Mix 1 tbsp of soy sauce and balsamic vinegar, mustard, honey, garlic, cumin.

5. Pour the marinade over the beets and leave for 10 minutes.

6. Put the beets with the marinade in foil.

7. Add oil (a little more cumin if desired) and put in the oven at 200 degrees for 40 minutes.

8. After that, you can serve.
