How to cook mackerel to make it healthy: tips from the chef
Mackerel is not only tasty, but also a very healthy fish, which contains a lot of fluorine, phosphorus and omega-3, which are so necessary for the body. It also has powerful antioxidant and anticarcinogenic properties and is very easy to cook, just 20 minutes is enough to get a delicious dinner.
Chef Anatolii Dobrovolskyi shared on Instagram his tips and recipe for baked mackerel with spices and without oil, which is very juicy, tender and tasty.
The most important advice from the chef when cooking mackerel is not to use oil, which can spoil the wonderful taste of the dish. Ingredients:
- Mackerel - 1 pc.
- Paprika - 1 tsp.
- White pepper - 1 tsp.
- Provencal herbs - 1 tsp.
- Ground coriander - 1/2 tsp.
- Garlic - 3 cloves.
- Lemon - 20 g
- Salt - to taste
- Greens for decoration - 10 g
Method of preparation:
- Wash the fish, divide it into fillets.
- Wipe the fillets well with a paper towel.
- Use a sharp knife to make cuts on the skin side.
- In a separate bowl, mix paprika, Provencal herbs, white pepper, and ground coriander.
- Season the mackerel with salt on both sides, rub well, and sprinkle with spices.
- Cover the parchment, put the fish skin side up.
- Crush the garlic, put it on the fish, chop the lemon and put it on top.
- Put the baking sheet with the fish in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 200 C.
The dish is best served hot with vegetables.
