Lard is not only very tasty but also an extremely satisfying product that can be eaten in any form – baked, fried, eaten raw with bread and garlic.

Food blogger Olha Matvii shared on her YouTube channel a recipe for delicious baked lard in the oven with spices, which is very simple and quick to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • Lard – 1.5 kg
  • Garlic – 1 head
  • Ground bay leaf – 1/4 tsp.
  • Salt – 1.5 tsp.
  • Pepper blend – 1.5 tsp.

Method of preparation:

1. If you have a large piece of bacon with meat, cut it into 2-3 equal parts.

2. Make cuts in them.

3. Mix the spices, squeeze in the garlic and stir.

4. Brush the lard well with this mixture and let it marinate, but you can bake it immediately.

5. Put it in foil, wrap it, put it in a mold or on a baking sheet, and put it in the oven for 1-1.5 hours at 180°C.

Slice the lard and serve it hot, with various sauces, as well as with vegetables, potatoes, and make sandwiches with it.
