Capelin is a delicious fish that has a specific odor that often makes it less popular than other fish. It is typically fried in a pan with a lot of oil, then dredged in flour, but it can also be pickled and smoked.

Ivan Khomiachuk shared a simple recipe for capelin and showed how to cook this fish in the oven without frying it in a pan on Instagram.

To avoid the smell of fish, bake it in the oven, making sure it is not overdone.

Ingredients:

  • capelin - 2 kg
  • lemon - 1 pc.
  • oil - 20 g
  • soy sauce - 70 g
  • seasoning for fish - to taste
  • black pepper/salt - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Wash the capelin well.

2. Pour in soy sauce, oil, lemon juice and spices, mix well and leave to marinate for 20-25 minutes.

3. Preheat the oven to 180 C.

4. Put perchment on a baking sheet, grease it with oil, put the fish on it and bake until it is golden.

This fish can be eaten with vegetables or side dishes such as boiled potatoes, as well as just rye bread or croutons.
