How to cook cabbage rolls so that they do not fall apart: a healthy seasonal dish
Stuffed cabbage is an appetizing Ukrainian dish that can not only satiate but also satisfy gourmet needs for a refined combination of flavors. In the fall, it also warms you up and reminds you of summer.
Food blogger Sofia Gubenia shared on Instagram how to make delicious and neat cabbage rolls that won't fall apart. This seasonal dish includes everything the body needs - vitamins, minerals, and nutrients - to prepare for the cold weather. The time you spend preparing it is well worth it.
Ingredients:
- cabbage - 1 large piece
- rice - 0.5 l
- water - 0.5 l
- minced meat - 700
- onion -1 pc.
- carrots - 2 pcs.
- salt, ground black pepper to taste
- mayonnaise - 3 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Steam the cabbage.
2. Chop the onion and fry it in vegetable oil until transparent.
3. While the onions are frying, grate the carrots and add them to the onions. Fry the roast until tender.
4. Rinse the rice until it runs clear. Pour it into a saucepan, add water and salt.
5. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, cover and let cool completely (without stirring).
6. Add the minced meat, onion and carrot fry, mayonnaise, salt and pepper to the rice and mix everything.
7. Wrap individual portions of the filling in cabbage leaves to make cabbage rolls.
8. Add sugar, salt, tomato paste to the water, stir and pour it over the cabbage rolls. Simmer under a lid over low heat or in a slow cooker for 50 minutes.
The dish is served hot. You can add sour cream and sprinkle with herbs. By the way, you can make the dish even healthier if you make your own mayonnaise instead of buying it in the store.
