How to cook buckwheat in a royal way: a delicious dish for the whole family
Buckwheat is a versatile cereal that can be cooked in many ways. It is especially tasty when combined with meat, mushrooms, and vegetables. If you cook the porridge this way, you won't need any side dishes, and the whole family will be fed.
Food blogger and nutritionist Alex Mil (life__reverse) shared a recipe for hearty royal buckwheat with meat, vegetables, and tomato sauce on his Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- meat - 500 g
- dry buckwheat - 200 g
- carrots - 220 g
- onion - 220 g
- vegetable oil - 20 ml
- garlic - 5-6 cloves
- tomato juice/sauce - 300-400 ml
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1 tsp.
- bay leaves - 3-4 pcs.
- water - 300 ml
Method of preparation:
1. First, cut the meat into medium pieces and fry in a saucepan on both sides until golden brown.
2. Chop the onion and add to the meat, cook for 3 minutes.
3. Grate the carrots, add to the pan and cook for 4 minutes.
4. Add the buckwheat, a glass of water, tomato juice, spices, sugar and squeeze the garlic through a press.
5. Stir and put the bay leaves on top. Cover the pan with a lid and cook over low heat for 25-30 minutes. It's ready!
