How to choose quality store-bought dumplings
It is hard to find someone who does not like dumplings, especially when they are homemade with good meat and flavorful seasonings. But since we don't always have the time and opportunity to cook them, sometimes we all have to buy store-bought products, which are often of very good quality, if, of course, you know how to choose them correctly.
The FoodOboz editorial team will tell you what you should definitely pay attention to when choosing store-bought dumplings in order to buy a really high-quality and safe product.
1. Expiration date
Be sure to look at the expiration date. It should be no more than 3 months, with a maximum of 6. The temperature storage mode should be from minus 10 to minus 18 degrees.
2. Color
Choose dumplings in transparent packaging so you can clearly see their color, which should be white.
3. Shape
They should not resemble one big lump.
4. Filling
You can check its quality right before cooking at home. It should not have a bad odor, jelly-like consistency, cartilage, or a lot of spices.
5. Taste
Before cooking, you can cook one dumpling for a "test" to be sure of the quality.
It is worth noting that dumplings come in several categories, and this is very important. When choosing a product, you should pay special attention to this, as each letter on the package has a different meaning, namely:
- "A" - the minced meat consists of at least 80% meat.
- "B" - the minced meat consists of at least 60% meat.
- "C" - less than 40% meat.
- "D" - at least 20% meat and not necessarily good one.
- "E" - the cheapest dumplings with less than 20% meat.
