Every housewife has at least once faced the fact that food turned out tasteless and unsuccessful when cooked in a frying pan, especially pancakes and cutlets, which often stick and tear. But this can be prevented if you choose good cookware that will serve you for many years.

Ukrainian restaurateur Aleks Yakutov, the new chef of the Hell's Kitchen reality TV show (New Channel), told us how to choose a good frying pan to ensure that it is of high quality, and how to properly maintain it.

A universal fighter

The best frying pan is cast iron

"A good frying pan should be heavy, and cast iron is a good option. But you need to take care of it properly. After you have cooked something on it, it should not be washed. Otherwise, it will get rusty," said Aleks Yakutov.

How to properly care for pans?

"It's better to do what our grandmothers used to do – rub it with oil so that it is always greasy. And wash it right before cooking. You can easily fry pancakes and steaks, cook vegetables and fish on such a frying pan – it's a 'universal soldier' in the kitchen," Yakutov said.

The expert also mentioned a frying pan with sandwich panels or a double bottom.

"It allows you to keep the temperature even when you take it off the heat. This is more professional cookware, so it is expensive. But I believe that it is better to buy pans once in a lifetime," the chef added.

"Popular Teflon pans are not suitable for everything. It's better to use them for pancakes, pancakes, or frying eggs. And when working on such a frying pan, use silicone spatulas so as not to scratch the coating," the chef summarized.
