How to achieve the perfect consistency of eggs

Hard-boiled eggs are best suited for making salads, sandwiches, and other dishes where the product must be whole. However, achieving the perfect consistency during conventional boiling can be quite a challenge, as you need to time it correctly and not overcook the product. Therefore, to make eggs whole and tasty, you should use one simple method.

The American publication INSIDER has published a simple technology for hard-boiled eggs on its website.

To do this, you need an air fryer that fries food without using oil. You just need to place the eggs in the basket and press start. When cooking eggs in an air fryer, you don't need to use a pan and monitor the boiling. This method takes much less time.

Eggs with the perfect consistency for salads

The air fryer circulates very hot air around the eggs at high speed, creating an optimal environment for even cooking the yolks.

There is less risk of broken shells because there is no boiling water.

How to properly cook eggs in an air fryer:

  • The basket should not be overcrowded. To ensure that all eggs are exposed to the heat from all sides, cook only as many as you can fit in one layer with a little space.
  • If there are brown spots on the eggshell, it's a sign that you've overcooked them. Next time, try reducing the cooking time by one to two minutes.
  • Although an egg with a green or grayish ring around the yolk is still perfectly safe to eat, some may find it unappetizing. These rings are caused by cooking the eggs for too long, which causes sulfur and iron compounds to react on the surface of the yolk.

How to store cooked eggs properly

Perfectly cooked eggs with the shell coming off well

To keep the product tasty and fresh for longer, you should store it unpeeled in the refrigerator. The shell not only protects the eggs from absorbing other odors in the refrigerator but also from bacteria and drying out.

When refrigerated in an airtight container or plastic bag, hard-boiled eggs can be stored for up to seven days, whether peeled or not.

Whatever you do, don't try to freeze them. Once thawed, the eggs will become hard and rubbery.

The principle of cooking in an air fryer

To prevent peeled eggs from drying out in the refrigerator, they can be stored in a bowl or container of water, and wrapped in damp paper towels before being placed in a plastic bag or container.
