How to bake savoiardi cookies for tiramisu at home: will taste even better than store-bought ones
Tiramisu is a traditional Italian dessert that has gained great popularity around the world. It can be easily prepared at home from available products. However, tiramisu requires special cookies that are sold at a rather high price. As it turned out, you can also make these stick-shaped cookies yourself.
Food blogger Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi shared how to make tiramisu cookies at home on Instagram. This recipe can help you save a lot of money.
Ingredients
- whites - 110 gr
- salt - a pinch
- lemon juice - 1 drop
- powdered sugar - 80 gr
- yolk - 50 gr
- sugar - 25 g
- flour - 85 g
- starch - 10 g
Method of preparation
1. Beat the egg yolk and sugar separately at high speed to a stable foam and to dissolve the sugar. It will take about 5 minutes. Cover with cling film.
2. Place the egg whites, a pinch of salt and a drop of lemon juice in the bowl of a blender and beat at medium speed to create a beer-like foam.
3. Add the powdered sugar in 3-4 steps and beat until stiff.
4. Mix the beaten yolks and whites. It is better to add the whites to the yolk in 3 steps.
5. Mix flour and starch and pour it through a sieve into the mixture and gently knead the dough with a large whisk for 15-20 seconds until it is homogeneous.
6. Put the dough into a pastry bag with a round 7-8 mm nozzle.
7. Put the parchment on a baking sheet and squeeze out "sticks" like eclairs. Make sure they are tall, not flat.
8. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar and let stand for 5 minutes.
9. Bake in a preheated 180-degree oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
10. Immediately remove from the oven and let cool. Put them in a dry, tightly closed box.
