Rice is not only a delicious product and the basis for many dishes, such as stuffed cabbage and pilaf, but also a real storehouse of vitamins and minerals that the body needs, especially in the fall. In addition, it cooks very quickly and goes well with vegetables, which makes it possible to prepare dinner or lunch in 20 minutes.
Culinary expert and MasterChef judge Tetiana Lytvynova shared useful tips on her YouTube channel on how not to spoil rice, but to cook it properly so that it retains all its beneficial properties.
Tips:
- rinse the rice well so that it does not stick together during cooking
- proportions – 1 rice: 1.5 water
- do not forget to salt the rice after it boils
- do not stir the rice before boiling, otherwise it will turn into porridge
Two ways to cook rice deliciously and properly:
1. Rice with sesame seeds
Ingredients:
- Basmati rice – 100 g
- Sesame seeds – 30 g
- Water – 195 ml
- Salt – a pinch
Method of preparation:
- Wash 100 g of rice thoroughly with cold water, add sesame seeds, cover with water, be sure to cover and cook over high heat.
- When the dish boils well, reduce the heat and do not open the lid.
2. Rice with bulgur
Ingredients:
- Basmati rice – 100 g
- Bulgur – 50 g
- Flax – 30 g
- Water – 270 ml
- Salt – a pinch
Method of preparation:
- Wash rice and bulgur well, add flax, cover with water, and cook, be sure to cover.
