How many tangerines children can eat in one go
Tangerines are one of the main festive attributes of the New Year. Children especially like this fruit - they can get so carried away that you won't even notice when the product runs out. Some parents restrict kids, while others allow them to eat to their heart's content. This controversial issue needs to be sorted out.
Certified nutritionist Victoria Hovorukha told us how often children can be given tangerines on her Instagram page.
The expert notes that children should eat no more than two tangerines a day despite their love for the bright fruit. The reason is that the fruit contains a large amount of vitamin C, which is considered one of the biggest allergens. It also contains a lot of acids, to which a child's body can react differently.
Adults should also not overeat such fruits. The daily allowance is no more than 4-6 pieces.
What are the benefits of tangerines and when should you eat them?
To maximize the benefits of tangerines, it is recommended to eat them before or half an hour after the main meal. And if you have heavy, fatty meals for lunch (breakfast or dinner), tangerines will help you digest such food faster. Tangerines should not be eaten on an empty stomach because of the aforementioned high concentration of acids. Otherwise, the delicacy can provoke heartburn or flatulence.
In addition to the high content of vitamin C, tangerines are rich in vitamins K, B1, and B2, as well as special essential oils, which together have a positive effect on the elasticity of blood vessels. Therefore, a serving of this fruit a day helps prevent cardiovascular diseases.
