Honey cake is one of the most delicious and simple cakes, the cakes for which are made with honey and thick sour cream is used for the cream.

The cook shared a recipe for a delicious honey cake (Medovyk), which is very tender, on Instagram.



  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 60 g of honey
  • 50 g butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp of baking soda
  • 450-500 g of flour


  • 700 g of 30-30% sour cream
  • 200 g of sugar
  • 100 g of prunes

Method of preparation:

1. Mix eggs, sugar, honey, butter, and baking soda. Put in a water bath and make sure butter and sugar melt, stirring constantly.

2. Remove from the stove, add flour directly to the warm dough, knead the dough, and divide into 8 pieces.

How to cook

3. Roll out, transfer to parchment, immediately cut out circles with the lid, and bake at 180 degrees for 5-7 minutes.

4. For the cream, mix sour cream and sugar, leave for 10 minutes, mix again to melt sugar completely.


5. Pour hot water over the prunes. Drain the water. Dry the prunes and cut them into cubes.


6. Assemble the cake and let it stand for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, beat the dough trimmings in a blender. Smooth out the cake and sprinkle the top and sides with crumbs. After half an hour, the cake is very soft and tasty.
