Everyone has definitely heard and knows about the benefits of grapes and why you should eat more of them. But these are not all the benefits of this berry. It turns out to be extremely pleasant in taste and is in no way inferior to the store-bought one.

Red semi-sweet wine by Taras Yurchenko

Sugar proportions: 80 g per 1 liter of juice.

The method of preparation:

  • The first stage: separate the grapes from the stem and squeeze the juice in a bowl. Leave the wort for 4-5 days, stirring it constantly. On day 2-3, a wine cap will appear on top, which will have to be constantly stirred and "drowned". At least every 6 hours.
  • Second stage: remove the grape cap and squeeze the juice out of it with cheesecloth. Strain all the juice. Pour sugar to the bottom of the bottle and pour grape juice. Mix well to dissolve the sugar. Close the bottle with a medical glove.
  • The third stage: as soon as the gloves have risen and fallen over the bottle, strain the wine. After that, pour it into large jars and close with a regular lid. Let the wine stand for at least 3-4 months in a cold place.

Questions and answers

Is it necessary to separate the grapes from the stems? It is not necessary to separate the grapes, but some people believe that this can lead to bitterness.

If the wine is not quite sweet, can I add more sugar to it? Will it ferment? It all depends on how long the wine has been standing. In the first month and a half, you can definitely add sugar, and this is only good: the wine will become stronger and sweeter. And the expression "ferment" is a popular name for the phenomenon of souring. You can experiment.

To make sweet wine, do you need to add more sugar? Yes. But it is important not to overdo it with sugar so as not to interrupt the natural taste of the grapes.
