Homemade hot chocolate: ideas for making a warming drink
Hot chocolate is the perfect drink to warm you up in the chilly autumn weather. It's a good alternative to coffee because it doesn't contain caffeine. You can combine different types of chocolate: black, milk, or white, or choose one of them.

Classic cocoa-based hot chocolate
- cocoa – 2 tsp
- milk – 0.5 liters
- sugar – 4-5 tsp
Method of preparation:
1. Add sugar to cocoa and mix thoroughly
2. Heat the milk over low heat. Make sure that no foam forms.
3. Slowly pour the dry mixture into the milk in small portions.
4. Stir over low heat until smooth.
Hot chocolate with red wine
Ingredients:
(for 4 servings)
- condensed milk – 1 cup
- dry red wine – 1 cup
- dark chocolate – 100 g
- amaretto liqueur – 2 tbsp
- sugar or syrup – 2 tbsp
Method of preparation:
- Pour milk and wine into a saucepan, and add chopped chocolate and sugar or syrup.
- Heat over medium heat, stir constantly with a whisk until the ingredients are hot, but not boiling.
- The chocolate will melt, and the drink will become creamy with a homogeneous consistency.
- Heat the drink for 4 minutes and immediately pour into cups.
Italian hot chocolate
Ingredients:
- milk – 500 ml
- any chocolate – 120 g
- cocoa powder – 20 g
- sugar – 20 g
- corn starch – 20 g
Method of preparation:
- Melt the chocolate in a water bath.
- Stir cocoa, sugar, and starch.
- Heat the milk and stir in the dry ingredients first, then the melted chocolate. The milk should become thick.
- Serve with whipped cream.

Nutella with nuts
Ingredients:
- flour – 1.5 tbsp
- cocoa – 1.5 tbsp
- sugar – 0.5 cups
- milk – 1 cup
- butter – 50 g
- nuts – to taste
Method of preparation:
- Mix all dry ingredients,
- Add milk, butter and cook over medium heat.
- After boiling, cook for another 2 minutes, add nuts.
- Serve with toast and hot chocolate.
