Homemade apple cider from 3 ingredients: a simple recipe from Yevhen Klopotenko
Apples are a very tasty and healthy fruit that experts recommend eating raw, as they will be most beneficial. But they can also be used to make pies, preserves, jams, and flavored drinks.
Chef Yevhen Klopotenko shared a recipe for delicious homemade apple cider on his YouTube channel, which you can easily make (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the page).
Ingredients:
- apples - 2 kg
- pressed yeast - 3 g
- sugar - 2 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the apples and cut them into random pieces to make it easy to pass them through the juicer.
2. Pass through a juicer and pour the juice into a jar. If the juice is too thick, you can add a little water.
3. Add the apple cider press cake to the juice and stir.
4. Add the crushed yeast and sugar, stir, and leave the jar for active fermentation for 1 day in a dark room. Cover with cheesecloth.
5. The next day, cover the jar with a rubber glove and make a hole in any finger to allow the excess air that forms during fermentation to escape.
6. Leave the jar of cider for 2-3 days, until the glove rises and then deflates and falls off. Then close it and put it in a dark place for 1 month.
7. Then strain the cider through a sieve, pour it into a glass jar and put it in the refrigerator for a short time and drink.
