Gutsul banosh: how to prepare a dish in a new and delicious way

Banosh is a traditional very tasty and hearty dish, the basis of which is corn grits, as well as scallions and cheese. For an original flavor you can add mushrooms, spices.

Culinarian Julia shared on Instagram a recipe for Hutsul banosh with mushrooms and scallions served with cheese.

Ingredients:

  • water - 0.5 liters
  • 20% fat sour cream - 0.5 l
  • fine corn groats - 250 g
  • butter - 40 g
  • salt - 1 tsp.
  • bryndza - 50-100 g
  • fried mushrooms
  • scallions

Method of preparation:

1. Mix water and sour cream, put on a low heat, add salt, then add the groats in several steps, stirring with a whisk or spatula to avoid lumps.

2. Cook over minimum heat for up to 15 minutes, stirring constantly.

3. At the very end, add the butter.

Servebanosh hot, sprinkle grated bryndza on top, add crackers or fried mushrooms.
