Green mixed salad: what to combine to make the dish hearty and light

Salad is a food that can be both nutritious and light. This is especially true in summer, as there is a wide variety of seasonal healthy ingredients. Just combine your favorite ingredients and add a simple dressing and you have a hearty dinner.

The idea of cooking a fresh green salad was published on the Instagram page of Olha, a food blogger (cooking_by_olga).

Ingredients:

  • salad mix – 100 g
  • avocado – 1 pc
  • cucumber –1 pc
  • cherry tomatoes – 5-6 pcs
  • sunflower or pumpkin seeds to taste

Ingredients for the dressing:

  • olive oil – 5 tbsp
  • lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • Dijon mustard – 3 tsp
  • salt – to taste
  • balsamic sauce – optional

Method of preparation:

1. Avocados for the salad should be chosen not with bright green skin, but with dark green or even brown, such avocados are ripe, they are tastier, and those with light skin are unripe. Take a washed avocado, cut it in half with a knife, and remove the pit. Then peel the avocado with a knife and cut it into thin slices.

2. Cut the tomatoes into halves or quarters at your discretion.

3. Cut the cucumber into thin slices and roll it into a tube.

4. Wash the lettuce leaves and dry them well.

5. To prepare the dressing, pour olive oil into a bowl and add Dijon mustard.

6. Then add lemon juice and mix well.

7. Add salt to taste.

8. Assemble the salad: put lettuce leaves on a flat plate, then add chopped tomatoes, cucumber, and avocado.

9. Drizzle with mustard dressing.

10. Sprinkle with pumpkin or sunflower seeds.

11. If desired, you can pour balsamic sauce.
