Greek roasted pepper sauce: perfect for pasta and boiled potatoes
The Greek roasted pepper sauce has a thick yet delicate texture. This makes it very convenient to spread on bread or toast, or to serve as an independent appetizer with pita bread or pita. This sauce is quick to prepare and perfectly stored.
Food blogger Yana with the nickname ohmyborsh shared a recipe for Greek sauce made from roasted peppers on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- sweet red pepper – 6 pcs
- feta –130-150 g
- chili flakes – 1 tsp
- smoked paprika –1 tsp
- oregano – 1 tsp
- Greek yogurt – 1 tbsp
- garlic – 1 clove
- salt
- vegetable oil (for baking peppers)
- olive oil – 2 tbsp
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the peppers in half, peel the seeds, put them skin side up on a baking sheet, and drizzle with sunflower oil. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees until soft and dark brown.
2. Put the hot peppers in any dish and cover with foil or a lid. Or put it in a bag. Leave for at least 10 minutes. This will help to remove the skin easily.
3. Actually, at this stage you need to peel the peppers.
4. Mix the peppers with feta, yogurt, spices, salt and olive oil. Beat with a blender.
