Grated pie with jam for tea: a recipe for the simplest dessert
Grated pie is the easiest and most delicious tea treat, always made on shortcrust pastry and with any kind of jam. The cake can also be made with nuts, raisins, cottage cheese, fresh berries, and fruits.
Cook Olga Chymych shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious grated pie that is crispy and light.
Ingredients:
- Butter - 150 g
- Salt - a pinch
- Sugar - 240 g
- Eggs - 2 pcs.
- Baking powder - 2 tsp (or baking soda 1 tsp + vinegar 0.5 tsp)
- Flour - 420 g
- Jam.
Method of preparation:
1. Beat the butter at room temperature with sugar and salt, then add the eggs one by one.
2. Add the baking powder and sifted flour in two stages and knead.
3. Gather the dough and divide it into two parts. Divide the smaller part into 2-3 more parts, wrap it in plastic wrap, and put it in the freezer.
4. Roll out most of the dough on the parchment and shape it into a 1.5 cm thick rectangle with small sides.
4. Spread with jam, grate the second part of the frozen dough, and bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes at 180°C.
