Grated pie: what unusual ingredient to add to the dough to make it crispy
Grated pie is one of the most delicious, simple homemade desserts for tea. The preparation is very simple, and even someone who has never made pies can make it. You just need to make a good shortcrust pastry and add your favorite jam.
Cook Tetiana shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious, crispy grated pie with jam that goes perfectly with tea and milk.
Tip: add mayonnaise to the dough, it will make the dough crispy!
Ingredients:
- flour - 350 g
- baking soda - 0.5 tsp
- butter - 200 g
- sugar - 100 g
- eggs - 1 pc.
- mayonnaise - 1 tbsp.
- lemon juice - 1 tbsp
- jam - 250 g
Method of preparation:
1. Sift the flour into a bowl, add baking soda, mix.
2. Rub the cold butter directly into the flour.
3. Mix the egg, sugar, mayonnaise and lemon juice separately.
4. Add this mixture to the flour and butter.
5. Knead the dough quickly and wrap about a third of the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the freezer.
6. Using your hands and a rolling pin, roll out the remaining dough into a thin rectangle, about 30-40 cm in size, brush with jam and grate the frozen dough on top.
7. Bake for 25 minutes at 180 C.
