Grated currant pie in a hurry: a recipe for the simplest dough
Grated currant pie is reminiscent of the true taste of childhood. The dessert is prepared very simply and from products that can be found in every refrigerator. Nuts give the pie an incredible flavor and, combined with currants, form a delicate juicy filling.
Food blogger Mariia Mykhalchenko shared a recipe for grated currant pie on her YouTube channel (to watch the video, scroll down to the end).
Ingredients:
- flour – 1 cup
- baking powder – 0.5 tsp.
- butter – 125 g
- sugar - 2 tbsp.
- egg yolks – 2 pcs.
- vanilla
- sour cream – 1 tsp.
The filling:
- currants – 200 g

Method of preparation:
1. Mix the flour with baking powder. Rub in the cold butter. Grind everything to a state of crumbs.
2. Add sugar, vanilla, sour cream and egg yolks. Knead the dough. Put 1/3 of the dough in the freezer.
3. Spread the rest of the dough evenly in a floured mold, forming the sides.
4. For the filling, beat the currants with sugar. Put the resulting mass in the mold on top of the dough.
5. Put the nuts.
6. Take the dough out of the freezer and grate it on top of the pie.
7. Bake at 160 °C for 45-50 minutes.
