Grated apple pie: the recipe for the most budget-friendly and delicious dessert
The simplest, most budget-friendly, and most importantly, the easiest to make pie is grate it. It requires only cold butter, flour, eggs and jam, berries or fruit for the filling.
The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious, crispy and quick to prepare grated apple pie.
Ingredients:
- apples - 5 pcs.
- starch - 1-2 tbsp (depends on the juiciness of the apples)
- juice of a slice of lemon
- flour - 220 g
- butter - 140 g
- egg - 1 pc.
- baking powder - 1/3 tsp.
- sugar - 1/3 cup (approximately 50-60 g)
- salt - a pinch
Method of preparation:
1. For the dough: mix the flour and baking powder in a bowl. Add sugar and salt and mix well. Throw the chopped cold butter into the flour and grind it into crumbs.
2. Next, add the egg and knead the dough. Spread 2/3 of the dough into a baking dish covered with parchment. Make the base and sides. Put it in the freezer for 20 minutes. Freeze the rest of the dough as well.
3. After 20 minutes, transfer the base to an oven preheated to 170° and bake for about 20-30 minutes.
4. For the filling: coarsely chop the peeled apples, sprinkle with lemon juice, sprinkle with starch and sugar if desired.
5. Place the apples on the baked pastry in the mold and grate the remaining pastry on top of the apples.
Bake for about 40 minutes at 180°C.
