Golden milk is an ancient drink that is especially popular in Asian countries. It got its name from its main ingredient, turmeric, a staple of Indian cuisine. The substances that make up this spice are responsible for anti-inflammatory processes, namely, they reduce inflammation and act as antioxidants. This is very important in the fall and winter.
Although the name of this drink is used in a figurative sense. However, this milk can truly be called golden in terms of its content of useful components and vitamins.
Nutritionist Alina (kitchen_area) shared a recipe for golden milk with turmeric on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- milk - 200-300 ml
- turmeric - 1-1.5 tsp.
- cinnamon - 1\2 tsp.
- black pepper - 1\3 tsp.
- coconut oil - 1 tsp.
- ground ginger - a pinch
Method of preparation:
1. First, mix all the spices together.
2. Pour milk into a saucepan, add spices and coconut oil.
3. Put on fire and cook for about 10 minutes over medium heat. But do not bring to a boil.
4. The finished drink can be whipped with a blender to obtain a thick foam, but this is optional.
To get a good effect, the nutritionist advises drinking about 2 glasses of this golden milk a day.
