Fried curly potatoes: what is the secret of unusual breading
Curly potatoes are a popular street food. Their peculiarity lies in the fact that the vegetable is fried in a special breading, which makes the potatoes very crispy and tastes like chicken. These fried potatoes have an interesting appearance, which is why were named like this.
The recipe for curly fried potatoes was published on one of the Vinastar Channel's cooking channels on YouTube.
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 180 g
- all-purpose flour - 150 g
- chicken broth powder - 1 tsp.
- salt - 1/2-2/3 tsp.
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp.
- water - 180-200 ml
- flour (for breading)
Method of preparation:
1. Mix flour, powder, salt, baking soda and water in bowl. Stir until the mixture is homogeneous and thick. This will be the breading.
2. Peel the potatoes, cut them first into slices and then into cubes.
3. Prepare a separate bowl with flour.
4. First, roll each piece of potato well in the thick breading.
5. Then dip the potatoes in flour. Cover the top with flour too. Roll the potatoes well until the mixture begins to stick to then, becoming "curly".
6. Fry the potatoes in plenty of oil until golden brown.
