French toast: what to make from leftover Easter cake

Easter is over and you still have Easter cake left over that will soon go bad? Then it's time to pay attention to this recipe. It will prevent a single crumb of Easter cake from ending up in the trash and turn it into a delicious French toast.

Food blogger Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi knows exactly how to make French toast from Easter cake leftovers. He shared this on Instagram.

Ingredients

  • eggs - 3 pcs
  • milk - 100 ml
  • sugar - 25-30 gr
  • cinnamon
  • citrus zest

Method of preparation

1. Combine eggs, milk and cinnamon in a deep bowl and mix with a whisk.

2. Cut Easter cake into slices, about 2 cm thick each.

3. Dip a piece of Easter cake in the milk mixture on both sides and fry in a pan with oil on both sides.

4. Put it on a plate and immediately add a scoop of ice cream. You can also replace it with whipped cream.

5. Drizzle the ice cream or cream with honey or sweet syrup. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and serve.
