For tiramisu and more: recipe for the most successful savoiardi cookies
Savoiardi are elongated cookies. They absorbs liquid easily and are soft. Because of these properties, savoiardi are used to make various desserts, including tiramisu. You can bake Italian cookies yourself, just choose a good recipe and follow the exact proportions.
Chef Alex Yakutov shared a recipe for a delicious and successful homemade savoiardi cookies exclusively with FoodOboz.
Ingredients:
- flour - 125 g
- egg white - 150 g
- sugar - 125 g
- egg yolk - 100 g
- salt - 1 g
- orange or lemon zest
Method of preparation:
1. Combine the yolks with the zest and mix well, but do not beat.
2. Separately, beat the egg white with salt and sugar until very stiff peaks, like meringue.
3. Combine the whipped whites with the yolks and flour as follows: first add the yolks, then a little flour, then the yolks and a little flour again. Each time, mix gently from the bottom up with a spatula to prevent the bubbles from bursting.
4. Put the finished mass into a pastry bag. Cover the baking sheet with parchment. Gently squeeze the mass out of the bag, forming cookies.
5. Sprinkle them with powdered sugar using a sieve and bake at 180 C for 10-12 minutes.
Ready-made cookies can be added to any dessert.
