For soups: quick cabbage and sausage pie

Pies are an ideal treat for tea, as well as an addition to soups and broths. They can be made from various doughs, even pita bread, and with delicious savory and sweet fillings.

Cook Anastasia shared a recipe for a delicious pie with cabbage and sausages based on puff pastry on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry dough - 500 g
  • cabbage - 1 pc.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • carrot - 1 pc.
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • tomato paste - 1/3 tbsp.
  • water - 100 ml
  • smoked sausages - 3-4 pcs.
  • oil for frying
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • bay leaf - 1 pc.
  • eggs for greasing - 1 pc.

Method of preparation:

1. Defrost the dough.

2. For the filling, chop the cabbage, dice the onion, and grate the carrots. Heat the oil and fry the onion and carrots first, then add the chopped cabbage, then the tomato paste diluted in water, mix everything and simmer until the cabbage is tender. Season with salt and pepper, add bay leaf, turn off the heat and leave to cool.

3. Put the parchment on a baking sheet, then the dough on top, making sure to pierce it with a fork. Cut strips from the remaining dough to decorate the pie.

4. Put the cabbage and sliced sausages on top, decorate with a grid of dough strips, and leave for 1 hour.

5. Then brush the pie with a beaten egg and bake at 200 C for 40 minutes until golden brown!

Cool and eat!
