Any pie is already a great dish for lunch and tea because firstly, they are quick to prepare, and secondly, they can be made with different fillings. It's worth noting that they are often baked without flour, with pita bread or vegetables.

Chef Tetiana Lytvynova shared a recipe for a delicious offal pie that would be a great alternative to bread. It can be eaten with soups or tea, and it will be equally delicious. The baking recipe was published on the Vse Bude Dobre YouTube channel.

Ingredients:

  • kidneys - 300 g
  • carrots - 2 pcs.
  • flour - 250 g

  • canned tomatoes - 3 pcs.
  • onions - 3 pcs.
  • oil - 2 tbsp.

  • chicken eggs - 1 pc.
  • sunflower oil - 2 tbsp.
  • butter (60 g for the dough, 50 g for the filling) - 110 g
  • milk (200 ml for the filling, 150 ml for the dough) - 350 ml
  • dried thyme - 1 tsp.

Method of preparation:

1. Wash the kidneys, put them in a bowl and cover with milk so that they do not have an unpleasant odor.

2. Then drain the milk, rinse them and cut them lengthwise. Remove all the fatty layers and cut into small pieces.

3. Peel the onions and carrots and cut them into half rings.

4. Heat a frying pan, melt butter and fry the vegetables with the kidneys in it.

5. Add the tomatoes and stir.

6. Add milk and bring to a boil, stirring.

7. For the dough, beat eggs with milk, thyme and melted butter, and mix.

8. Sift flour and add the egg mixture. Mix so that the dough is not runny.

9. Put the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

10. Then divide it into 2 parts and roll them out so that there are 2 cakes. Place the first cake in the mold (be sure to form the sides), cover with parchment paper and sprinkle with beans. Put in the oven and bake at 200 C for 10 minutes.

Preparation.

11. Cover the baked cake with the filling and then with the second cake. Pinch the edges together.

12. Brush the top of the pie with a beaten egg and bake at 200°C for 15 minutes.

Let the cake cool and then cut it.
