Fluffy chocolate cake with cherries: a variation on the basic tea cake

Delicious juicy cherries make a great base for a fluffy tea cake. Be sure to add baking powder to the dough and combine the flour with cocoa. For a delicate flavor, use cream cheese. The pastries are as simple as possible and very flavorful.

The idea of making a cocoa cherry tea cake is published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname koly4ca zhanka. It will be enough for the whole family.

Ingredients:

  • eggs - 3 pcs.
  • sugar - 180 grams
  • milk - 200 ml
  • oil - 200 ml
  • flour - 330 g
  • cocoa - 3.5 tbsp
  • starch - 2 tbsp
  • baking powder - 1 pack
  • vanilla - 1 pack
  • cherries - 1.5 cups
  • chocolate chips or chopped chocolate - 1 handful

Additionally:

  • cream cheese or sour cream 20% - 150 g
  • sugar - 3 tbsp
  • eggs - 1 pc.

Method of preparation:

1. All ingredients should be at room temperature. Mix flour, starch, cocoa, and baking powder, and set aside.

2. Beat the egg, sugar, and vanilla for 2-3 minutes until it becomes a thick foam.

3. Add the oil and milk on top and mix.

4. Add the flour mixture and mix.

5. Grease the mold and spread the dough evenly over it.

6. Add cherries and chocolate chips on top.

7. Mix cream cheese or sour cream, sugar, and egg until smooth and spread over the cake with a tablespoon.

8. Bake the cake in a preheated 180-degree oven (upper and lower heat) for about 35-40 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
