Flavorful lard spread: why you should add oil
Lard spread is a great option for a festive appetizer. It goes perfectly with fragrant fresh bread or croutons. To make the texture of the dish smooth and elastic, add olive oil.
The idea of making lard spread was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Halyna (galina_artemenko).
Ingredients:
- a piece of lard without skin - 500 g
- salt - 15 g (3% of the weight of lard)
- garlic - 25 g (5% of the weight of lard)
- black pepper
- olive oil - 3-5 tbsp (it makes the spread smooth)
Cooking method:
1. Cut the lard into pieces of about 2-2.5 cm.
2. Add salt, pepper and chopped garlic. Mix.
3. Use a meat grinder to pass the lard 2-3 times or use a blender to grind it with olive oil.
4. Chill in the refrigerator for about 3-4 hours or overnight.
