In addition to making jam and preserves, apples can also be fermented deliciously. The advantage of this unusual dish is that the fruit can be eaten within a few days or stored for a long period of time. You can ferment apples directly in a jar without using a barrel.
Food blogger Anna Ganzenko shared a recipe for fermented apples for the winter on her YouTube channel.
Ingredients:
- apples
- cherry/currant/raspberry leaves (cherry leaves are used in the recipe)
- water - 0.5 liters
- salt - 1 tbsp
- honey - 2 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Put cherry leaves on the bottom of the jar (3 liters).
2. Put the apples.
3. For the brine, dissolve the salt and honey in water. Pour the resulting mass into a jar.
4. Then fill the jar to the top with water.
5. Cover the jar with a nylon lid. Leave the apples for a month in a dark, warm place.
