Unlike other varieties, they contain the largest amount of omega-3 fatty acid, which in turn has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. Walnuts are also a source of anti-inflammatory vitamins and antioxidants, including vitamin E and other phytonutrients such as phenolic acids, tannins, and flavonoids.
A recent study on the benefits of walnuts showed that daily consumption reduces the concentration of certain biomarkers of inflammation.
Similarly, eating walnuts can help control type 2 diabetes and reduce the risk of the disease in general. This conclusion was reached in another study. More than a hundred people with type 2 diabetes drank 1 tablespoon of walnut oil for three months. As a result, their blood sugar levels dropped by 8%.
Finally, it is worth adding that walnuts are the most common and easily available at any time of the year. Therefore, they can be easily added to your diet and combined with a huge number of dishes, namely: fruit salads, sauces, oatmeal, sandwiches or rolls, and plain yogurt.
